On the night of November 13th, during Four Chords and the Truth, the CN Tower light show will light red, white, and black to support our charity partner, MusiCounts.

Please help us put musical instruments into the hands of students in under-served schools by amplifying this worthy cause.

BARBRA LICA: Barbra Lica is a JUNO-nominated singer-songwriter-producer based in Toronto, Canada. A seasoned act on the Canadian and American club and festival circuits, Barbra Lica has performed everywhere from New York City’s legendary Birdland to Toronto’s prestigious Koerner Hall. She has also headlined at festivals across the continent including Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Vancouver International Jazz Festival and Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival, and opened for the likes of Christian McBride, Pat Metheny, Bob Dorough, and Terence Blanchard. Barbra’s debut album That’s What I Do was released to widespread acclaim in 2012, ranking her in Canada’s Top 5 Jazz singers on the CBC, as well Top 5 up-and-coming Toronto jazz artists on blogTO. Shortly after, her band made their Japanese debut live at the Tokyo International Jazz Festival in 2015 for over a thousand Japanese fans and Barbra received her first JUNO nomination for her album I’m Still Learning. Her 2018 album, You’re Fine, marked the introduction of Folk and Americana elements to her repertoire and has amassed over 7 million streams to date on Spotify. More recently, her first self-produced EP, Imposter Syndrome (2022), garnered her two 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations in the categories of Single of the Year (In 40 Years) and Solo Artist of the Year. The album single, The Ghost of Me, took home the 2023 Ontario Folk Music Awards CMRRA Song of the Year prize. In addition to writing for herself, Barbra has written cuts for such artists as jazz crooner Matt Dusk (Entertainment One/Universal), rising J-Pop singer Harumi (Sony Music Japan), American Idol runner-up David Archuleta (Ivory Highway), pop-folk diva Jill Barber (Outside Music), and Taiwanese pop recording artist, Morrison Ma (Universal Music Group/X Entertainment). She is also the founder, arranger, and lead vocalist for the Toronto Chamber-Pop Orchestra, an all-new folk-jazz-classical crossover project featuring all-original music cinematically arranged for 14 instruments plus voice.

SHAWNEE KISH: Shawnee Kish is a powerhouse singer-songwriter and three-time JUNO Award nominee from Edmonton. Her music blends alt-country, folk, and roots-rock influences with deeply personal storytelling, earning recognition for its raw emotion and authenticity. An outspoken advocate for Indigenous and LGBTQ2S+ communities, Shawnee has performed on national stages across Canada, and continues to connect with audiences through her soaring vocals and unapologetically honest songs.

ANDREA ENGLAND (HOST/FOUNDER): Nova Scotia-born and raised, Toronto-based, Andrea England, whose songs have been recorded by a diverse range of artists – from country artists Meghan Patrick and Don Amero to Popstar and ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger – has released her long-awaited ambient Americana EP, Evidence of Love, produced by JUNO Award winner Hill Kourkoutis (Aysanabee, Digging Roots). Evidence of Love’s seven songs “detail love in all its many complicated forms: nostalgic love, love of parents, loss, absence of love, betrayal, ideal love, and the love we take with us when we …go.” Andrea is the sole songwriter on five of the album’s seven tracks, cowriting “Stone” with Tenille Townes and “Cover to Cover” with Liz Rodrigues (Celine, Eminem) and James Bryan (Drake, Nelly Furtado). Andrea’s previous album, Hope and Other Sins, produced by Grammy winner Colin Linden, spent several weeks on Cashbox Canada’s top 50 folk chart and hit No. 1 on Galaxy’s folk roots radio channel, and her debut, Lemonade, won multiple International songwriting awards and spawned network television and movie placements. A songwriter advocate and active member of the music industry, Andrea has juried Songwriting categories for the Juno Awards, Canadian Folk Music Awards, Indigenous Music Awards, Canadian Country Music Awards, has performed as an artist at SXSW, NXNE, CMW, CCMAs, ECMAs, OCFF and FAI music festivals, taught Lyrics 101 at Seneca College, is a member of the Recording Academy’s (Grammys’) Songwriter & Composer Wing and sits on the Board of Directors of the Songwriter’s Association of Canada. Andrea is the founder, host, and curator of the Four Chords and the Truth songwriter series and was recently a 2025 Billboard Canada Women in Music “Industry Spotlight” Honouree.
